Atmospheric Chemistry > Sediment
The following information is about Sediment.
Sediment Defined
Particles carried by water or air that are deposited in other areas or elevation are called sediment. Usually associated with water flow, sediment will accumulate at the mouth of a river or stream as it empties into a larger, slower moving body of water. Sediment deposition is also effected by particle size.[Geological Magazine; v131; p568-70; 1994.] [Ecology; v74; p919-34; 1993.]
